This is quite a crazy story, but let’s be real folks. If you are a top recruit en route to play at a top program, you are not choosing your team on academics or even the status of the program. Players like Cam Newton MAKE programs. It’s just like a free agent in professional sports, you go where the money is. Plain and simple.
Why the NCAA continues to pick and choose who they are going to investigate stems from the same problem in my opinion. They also go to the highest bidder.

MaxPreps.com ranks Hood No. 26 in the Class of 2011. The 6-foot-6 wing from Meridian, Miss.,chose the Bulldogs over offers from Louisville, Marquette and Florida State. He joins Deville Smith and Arnett Moultrie (transfer from UTEP) on the list of players expected to play for Mississippi State in 2011-12.
The Bulldogs are the favorites to win the SEC West this season.
